This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how to make us delete it. It is written in plain English because you should not need a lawyer to understand what happens to your information.
Who we are
WpConsults is the trading name of WpConsults LLC, registered in Wyoming, United States. We provide eCommerce SEO, AI Search (GEO) and digital marketing services, and we publish a blog.
We are the data controller for information collected through this website.

Information you give us
- Contact and enquiry forms. Your name, email address, and whatever you write in the message, including your website URL if you share it. We use Fluent Forms to run these, and the submissions are stored in our WordPress database.
- Consultation bookings. The details you provide when you request a call, so we can prepare for it and turn up.
- Purchases. If you buy a digital product or a service, we collect your billing name and email and a record of what you bought. We do not see or store your full card number.
- Comments. If you comment on an article, we store the name, email, and content you submit, along with your IP address for spam filtering.
Information we collect automatically
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console (connected through Site Kit) to understand which pages people read and which searches bring them here. This includes approximate location, device, browser, referring site, and pages viewed.
- Jetpack Stats. Provided by Automattic, giving us basic traffic figures.
- Security logs. Wordfence records IP addresses and request data to block attacks and brute-force login attempts. This is a legitimate security need, not marketing.
- Server logs. Our host records standard access logs, including IP address, time of request, and user agent.
- Performance and caching. LiteSpeed Cache may set cookies so pages load faster for you.
- Language preference. TranslatePress may store which language you chose.
- AI and search visibility analytics. We use tooling that measures how AI assistants and search engines crawl and cite this site. This measures crawler and bot activity, not you personally.

Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To answer you and deliver services. Legal basis: performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering one.
- To take payment and keep financial records. Legal basis: contract, and legal obligation for tax and accounting records.
- To keep the site secure and working. Legal basis: legitimate interests, specifically not getting hacked.
- To understand what content is useful. Legal basis: consent where required, otherwise legitimate interests.
- To send you email you asked for. Legal basis: consent. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and it works.
We do not sell your personal information. We never have, and we do not intend to.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers we need to run the business. Each one processes it on our instructions.
- Stripe, for card payments. Stripe handles your card details directly, and we never receive the full card number.
- Ko-fi, if you choose to leave a tip. That transaction happens on Ko-fi’s own platform under their privacy policy, not ours.
- Our bank and payment rails, for bank transfer, ACH, and Wise payments, where invoicing is handled outside the website.
- Google, for Analytics and Search Console.
- Automattic, for Jetpack features and statistics.
- Our web host and email provider, who store the site and deliver our email.
- Professional advisers and authorities, where we are legally required to disclose something.
Affiliate links
Some articles contain affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the merchant may set a cookie and we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we recommend, and we disclose it. See our Site Disclosure.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and work with clients worldwide, so your data may be transferred outside your home country, including to the US. Where data is transferred out of the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards our providers have in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become clients: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Client records and invoices: at least 7 years, because tax law requires it.
- Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression record so we do not email you again by accident.
- Security and server logs: a short rolling window, typically weeks, not years.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to do any of the following, and we will not make it difficult.
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete it, where we do not have a legal reason to keep it.
- Object to or restrict how we use it, including for marketing.
- Port it to another provider in a machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent was our basis.
Email privacy@wpconsults.com and we will respond within 30 days. California residents have additional rights, set out in our CCPA and CPRA Notice.
If you are in the UK or EEA and you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, access to the admin is restricted and protected by a security firewall, and we keep software patched. No system is perfectly secure, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.
Children
This site is aimed at business owners and marketers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights, we will say so clearly rather than quietly editing a line.
