We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, or magnification. We are not going to claim it is perfect, because we have not had it independently audited.
What we aim for
We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our standard.
What we have done
- Semantic HTML structure, so screen readers can navigate headings properly.
- Alt text on meaningful images.
- Keyboard-accessible navigation and links.
- A light and a dark mode, with attention to color contrast in both.
- Text that resizes without breaking the layout.
- Respect for the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting, so animations do not play for people who have asked their system to reduce motion.
Where we know we fall short
- The site has not been independently audited against WCAG 2.1 AA. Our claim is an honest effort, not a certified result.
- Some older articles may contain images with weak or missing alt text.
- Some third-party embeds and plugins may not be fully accessible, and we do not control their code.
We fix these as we find them.
